Community Carers & Good Causes

Thank you

Thank you for all that you are doing for us!

As we move forward and times are changing we are no longer taking orders via central admin. Please go to our Facebook group below and make your request and one of our fabulous sewists will respond. Make sure you state your location and the numbers needed.

Our volunteers make reusable cloth (cotton or cotton-mix) face masks from a pattern approved by OSCMS (the Open Source Covid-19 Medical Supplies), a panel of technical and medical professionals who have reviewed numerous designs and identified the best ones.

You are however welcome to use alternative patterns for other needs and uses.  Please see the government's advice here:

How to Wear

The masks have been washed, ironed and handled with care before they were sent to you, but it is wise to treat them with caution and wash them again (60ºC) before you start using them.  Take care as dyes in darker coloured masks and ties may run.

The masks are reusable and must be washed after each wear.

We recommend that masks are replaced at least every 2-3 hours, by carefully removing them and placing in a bag where they can be kept safely until transfer to a washing machine.

The nose bridge strips can be slotted in and removed easily.  Please remove before washing.  If they wear out, let us know and we will send you a new batch.  Peel off the thin blue plastic protection strip before use.  WARNING: Nose bridge strip CHOKING HAZARD, keep away from small children.
